2012

A team born out of the excitement of the 2012 4chan Summer Cup, /trv/ started life with a good set of results in the friendlies prior to the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, where they topped their group promisingly. Unfortunately Sex Tourist & Co. didn't penerate as far into the knockouts as many hoped and the hype suggested, but nonetheless little /trv/ packed their ski boots and sauna gear ready for the 2013 4chan Winter Cup, via a stopover at The World Series invitational. However, a strong win against /tv/ was followed by a controversial loss to /y/ and elimination at the group stage despite giving their all against /wg/.

2013

As such, little /trv/ had to pick themselves up and dust themselves off for the 2013 4chan Spring Babby Cup if they wanted to hit the big time again. A comeback win against /hr/ was followed by a rout at the hands and tentacles of /d/, though another improbable three-goal comeback to draw /ic/ was enough to ensure progression to the 2013 4chan Summer Cup.

/trv/ unlocked their potential and made it a Summer Holiday to remember, taking 7 points from a tough group before a team record win over /ck/ in the knockouts. A loss to the trolls of /b/ put /trv/ 6th overall and on vacation until the 2014 4chan Winter Cup.

2014

This upward trend only continued at the 2014 4chan Winter Cup, with the team brushing aside /vr/ and reigning champions /wg/ before a nervy draw with /ck/ to top the group. In the knockouts, /soc/, /asp/, /h/ and finally /a/ all came, but with a solid defence and creative attack, all wilted as /trv/ soared away. This was /trv/'s first title, and as such they were hosts of the 2014 4chan Summer Cup.

/trv/ looked well-off coming into the Summer Cup. However, they started in questionable form, taking a 0-0 draw to /gd/ in the opening match of the tournament. Their poor form continued against /sp/, where they gave a lead away after a tense game before TORRES spaghetti allowed them to get a 1-1 draw. These two draws left /trv/ with 2 points, needing a win against /wsg/ to retain their spot in the Elite Cups. However, /wsg/ made it 2-0 before the half, and despite Superpornowat Farangbang attempting to get /trv/ back into the game with a 45+ goal, /trv/ lost, 2-1. /trv/ became the first ever Elite Cup champion to be relegated their next cup, and as such are scheduled to participate in the 2014 4chan Autumn Babby Cup.

And what a disaster that cup was. 3-goal losses to /g/ and /mlp/ effectively killed the team in 2 games, before /hm/ buried them with a 1-1 draw. A final loss to /c/ in a game that mattered for absolutely nothing put /trv/ near the worst of the cup, completing a quick collapse from Champion to Babby in only 2 cups.

2015

In the 2015 4chan Spring Babby Cup, /trv/ were originally seemingly doomed to failure as their manager produced a late export and thus was barred from most live managing during the cup, however an initial 2-2 draw against /int/ gave /trv/ some hope leading into the match against group titans /vr/. However, /trv/ merely served as free points to /vr/, losing 2-0 and putting their hope for survival in a rough spot. /w/'s late goal against /trv/ effectively killed them, with yet another 90+ doing nothing but confirm both teams in the matchup to another Babby spell. The final match against an already-through /g/ started out badly, but Sex Tourist scored a hat trick as /trv/ secured a third place finish in the group with 5 points after the 3-1 victory.

The 2015 4chan Autumn Babby Cup seemed as though it could finally bring good things to /trv/; their manager was back and able to produce an export on time, and coupled with their promising performance in Spring there was some hope for /trv/ at last. Grouped with /h/, /wg/, /po/, and /vg/, it seemed that /trv/ could easily promote. However, /trv/'s first match was an absolute disaster, and despite getting ahead early, /trv/ were sorely unable to hold on to the lead and their defence completely fell apart as /wg/ absolutely destroyed them 5-1. The next match against /h/ saw /trv/ get ahead early again, but /h/ got back in the game and took the lead for themselves late into the game. While it seemed /trv/ would effectively be eliminated in two games, an absolutely retarded blunder by /h/'s defence led to /trv/ equalising late, saving their cup run. /vg/'s pre-matchday blunder continued to save /trv/'s run after a Halloween stream delay, as /trv/ took an early lead and then got up 3-1 after a /vg/ equaliser, which despite all of /vg/'s best attempts proved unbreakable. The final game of /trv/'s cup run ended poorly, however, with a 2-0 loss to /po/ dooming /trv/ to another six months of rest in their Babby crib.

2016

Relegated to the new Fetus, any memories of /trv/ being anywhere close to competitive had surely wilted away. A questionable defence helped in no way by PES 2016 held together long enough for a 4-3 win over the awful /t/, but nearly cost top positioning in the group as /trv/ blew leads and settled for 4-4 and 3-3 draws in an actually legitimate encounter with /y/ and a trip to the home of Cup debutants /p/. Automatic qualification was ensured, but /trv/ remained unfavoured despite minor changes for the actual cup, especially when a group draw featuring big-name /int/ and /a/, both former opponents, as well as equally-small /w/ (who did just enough to drag /trv/ down with them a year ago) came. /int/ were the first team to fall, as /trv/ showed its offensive prowess in a 3-2 victory. Next came /w/; with PES seemingly in total breakdown, /trv/ benefited greatly, with an 8-3 blowout victory all but sealing their place in the fifth anniversary cup. Finally, with /a/ needing a victory to promote over /w/ on goal differential, /trv/ took a victory just as they had done to deny /a/'s second star two years ago, this time in a much closer 4-3 match. A debilitating Round of 16 loss to /vr/, 4-1, put /trv/ in the lowest pot for the Summer draw, but they remained a big threat in the Summer Cup to come.

So of course, they came a /pol/ocaust away from a wooden spoon in the Summer Cup (taking losses 1-0 to /wsg/, 6-3 to /soc/, and 4-3 to /gd/). The Autumn Babby that followed wasn't much better, with /trv/ blowing a 3-1 lead and settling for a 4-4 draw against /k/, then getting drubbed by /w/ (4-1) and losing to /c/ again (3-2) to ensure their fetus placement.

2017

The 2017 4chan Spring Babby Cup ended up very successful for /trv/; the qualifier run was one win (a resounding 3-0 destruction of /pol/) sandwiched between two draws (1-1 against /sci/ and 3-3 against /co/). Despite initial trouble, with a loss in their first legitimate encounter with /o/ (despite holding two leads) and a draw with /lit/, /trv/ defeated /soc/ (again) on the final day and secured the top spot in the group by way of part two of DOUBLE PLAYOFFS with a 6-1 win over /lit/. ANOTHER blowout of /f/ came in the Round of 16, but /trv/ would eventually lose to 21 point master race /lgbt/ in a 6-5 match resembling the greatest hits of the previous year.

The 2017 4chan Summer Cup was rather unremarkable for most teams, but it was especially so for /trv/. The first match of the tournament was against /jp/, where the only highlight was /jp/ player Younger Sister giving /trv/ the win with an own goal. The next was against /po/, and appropriately ended nil-nil. Somehow, despite not scoring a goal by themselves through two matches, /trv/ needed a mere one point going into their final match against /vr/; the match ended as a 2-1 /vr/ win, sending /trv/ to the Autumn Babbies.

In the 2017 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, /trv/ were grouped with /h/, /wsg/, and /y/. The first match, against /wsg/, saw /trv/ take a 3-1 lead off a Sex Tourist hat trick only to blow it at the death and be forced to settle for a 3-3 draw. Against /h/, /trv/ fell down 3-0 before Superpornowat Farangbang sparked an attempted 10-minute comeback (/trv/ would end up losing 3-2). /trv/'s miniscule chance of promotion withered away when /wsg/ defeated /h/ before they kicked off against /y/, but that didn't prevent /trv/ from dodging the Fetus with a 3-1 win over /y/. /trv/ finished 18th overall in Autumn, a better showing than their more recent Autumn Cups.

2018

Before the 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup, /trv/'s longtime manager, MauledByTheTigers, announced that he would retire after the cup's conclusion. That retirement ended up coming early due to his failure to show up to post an export, leaving /trv/ on autopilot for Spring. The change to the GSSBB medal system did little to help /trv/; despite scoring the first goal against /lit/, they gave up an equalizer in two minutes and ended up losing the match. /trv/ got a win the next match, 3-2 over future Wooden Spoon /his/, but a 2-1 loss to 12 Point Master Race /b/ and a 2-2 draw to /vp/ left them eliminated with a total of 4 points.

2019

Ned Flanders aka Ding-Dong-Diddly (/asp/) is contemplating whether he should take an immediate vacation

After a 17-months trip around the world, the /trv/ellers decided to finally come back and conquer the 4chan Cup once again. After a big effort by the board, and half of the roster permanently transferred to live a quiet life in Pattaya, /trv/ was cleared to compete in the 2019 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers. The revived team kicked off on a great start by gaining a quick 3 goals lead against /vr/. Being the biggest experts in the art of relaxing, the team lost concentration and conceded two in the second half, however carried the lead until the end and ended with a victory on their comeback match. The qualification for the main Babby Cup became close after a 4-1 victory against /d/ in the second match, and was sealed after a third victory against /sci/.
Great expectations grew around /trv/ after the dominant fetus performance and they were confirmed after the first match against /aco/. The short winning streak came to an end after two consecutive draws against /asp/ and later /f/. The match against /asp/ was notable for /trv/ having two goals and only one shot on goal: the unexpected help came from Ned Flanders aka Ding Dong Diddly who scored an own goal. The travellers only managed to escape the 5-5-5-0 tragedy thanks to a one goal difference, qualified to a knockout round for the first time in two and a half years.

Couchsurfer Rapist celebrates an equalizer in the Quarter-final against /lit/

After a great fetus, but not-so-great performance in the group stage, /trv/ was not favoured against the 9-pointer miracle /wsg/. The match started slowly with Couchsurfer Rapist putting /trv/ on the lead only on the 42’ minute. The second half had a complete change of pace, with the newcomer – Peruvian Guide, as well as Couchsurfer Rapist, Sex Tourist and Is it safe all finding the net in less than 15 minutes. A late goal by Ricardo Milos was not enough to save /wsg/, but it was enough to take everyone on a trip to 5pa1n. The first match of the final day against /lit/ once again caught the /trv/ellers in deep trouble, and only a 90+ goal by Real Traveller™️ was enough to take home a 3-2 victory and the first /trv/ appearance in a semifinal since that glorious winter.
In the semifinals /trv/ faced off against the /c/uties of /c/. Despite most of them being of the right age, their cuteness was not enough to distract the Sex Tourist who scored the decisive goal. In the end, it all came down to the Outdoor bowl between /trv/ and /out/. /trv/ managed to get a quick lead at the 19’ minute, however from the start /out/ showed off a great offence with multiple shots that luckily Smokey the Bear (dubbed Chokey the Bear after that performance) missed. On 79’ one unfortunate shot by Happy Flute equalised the game, and in the end the outcome of Autumn 2019 was decided in the second half of extra time, with Real Traveller™️ granting /trv/ the lead and finally Sex Tourist putting the nail in /out/'s coffin and making /trv/ the 2019 Autumn Babby Cup Champions.

2020

The foul that killed /trv/. Was it inside or outside the box? The referee thought the former.

The unstoppable /trv/ made its way into the elites, first time since 2017. In the first match of the 2020 4chan Winter Cup travellers rolled over the pape friends from /wg/, winning 2-0. Then the problems began. The match against /vp/ went back and forth, with both teams scoring two goals, but a tragic crack in the defense at 90+1' cost /trv/ a point and ended a 12-match undefeated streak, which set a new record for 4chan Cup (fun fact: /vp/ started this streak, drawing with /trv/ in 2018 and ended it too). It was all or nothing in the grip weekend; only a victory over /h/ could secure /trv/'s positions in the elites and send the team into the Ro16. It was a tough game where /trv/ seemingly had an upper hand, having lead 2-1 until the very end, when another 90+' tragedy happened. An egregious defensive mistake, a rough play by Boomer Cruise on 90+3' led to a penalty, and Rance scored it. /trv/ was sent back to the Babby with a Spring ticket.

The 2020 4chan Spring Babby Cup turned out to be one of the biggest disasters in /trv/ history. Some say the team was cursed by the global travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. The travellers suffered two blowouts from /gd/ and /mlp/ and lost any chances to promote. After that, only a "glorified friendly" against /s4s/ remained, and it was lost as well. In the aftermath, /trv/ managed to get last place in the tournament they hosted, truly a wonderous achievement.

This was when /trv/ hit the rock bottom. One year after its revival, in 2020 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers, the only way to go was back up again.

In order to advance to the Babby Cup, /trv/ had to beat formidable opponents, /b/, /fit/ and /r9k/. Learning from mistakes, this time our team decided to go with a fresh new 4-3-3 formation. First match against /b/ started promising with two quick goals. A response from /b/ followed on 36’, and after that the match became a difficult grind. Both teams had several opportunities, but the fans did not see any more goals – a 2-1 victory for /trv/. Next up: a match against /fit/, disgruntled after a devastating loss to /r9k/. And as usual, when no one expected it, a precise shot by /fit/’s midfielder ended the first half 1-0 in their favour. The second half saw an impressive comeback thanks to a real team effort, and thus with another win (3-1) /trv/ was confirmed for advancement. Last match against /r9k/ was a pure memefest, which was, however, won as well. As a nice cherry on top, /trv/ finished the fetus with the best result out of all 8 participating teams.

Stakes were rising: could /trv/ get back to the elites? First 2020 4chan Autumn Babby Cup match was a tight comeback 2-1 win against /jp/. It seemed like this Autumn season /trv/ was walking the precarious rope but just barely getting the upper hand against the opponents. Second match against /n/ turned out to be a slurper for most of the time. /n/ defense played extremely well like a proper wall. Only thanks to the individual qualities of Real Traveller /trv/ was able to get in the first goal. When /n/ was pressured to attack more, scoring another goal was easier: a 2-0 win in the end. Final group match, /tv/. We only needed a draw to advance, /tv/ needed a win. This became a real thriller, initiative was swinging back and forth, there were countless attempts on goal. To our delight, it ended 3-2 in /trv/’s favour. Winter cup participation secured!

But there were still matches to play. And the Round of 16 match against /d/ was an important milestone: 100th official /trv/ match. Special music and retro kits were prepared for this event. The team just could not fail for this occasion. Regulation time ended 1-1 with a quite equal game. It was almost penalties time, when the outcome was resolved by a midfielder, subbed on for the extra time – Desperate Weeaboo scored a goal from a long distance! Some experts think this difficult win drained the players’ energy, and this is why the quarterfinal performance was so underwhelming. Shocking first half, conceding 3 goals from /fa/, and only one response in the second half. A sad 1-3 loss, but surely an optimistic outlook into the next cup.

2021

And now, the 2021 4chan Winter Cup. Second opportunity for the post-revival /trv/ to stay in the elites. It did not, however, look promising at the start. Yes, /trv/ scored an early goal against /his/, but smart tactical changes during the break allowed /his/ to completely overturn the game and win 2-1.

It took two grindy wins for /trv/ to finally achieve the goal. First was a 2-1 victory over /v/, and second – a goalfest but a still narrow win over /lit/. “I am trans and black, if that matters”, and it did matter as they scored the decisive goal allowing /trv/ to reach the Elite knockouts for the first time since Winter 2014.

Supposedly being high on that success, the team was not ready to reach the final elite day. A heartbreaking clash against /mu/ sent /trv/ home. Regardless, this still was the 2nd best historical performance. And with that, preparations for the World Cup have begun.

At the 10th anniversary of the 4cc, 2021 4chan World Cup, /trv/ started the group stage with a match against /y/. It was going quite well, with an early goal by Sex Tourist. But the slurpy mode of the match dragged that 1-0 score until the very end, where suddenly /y/ was gifted with a perfect chance to equalize – and they used it. 1-1. Next, a matchup versus our newfound friends of /adv/. Despite getting scored on first, our team quickly recovered and scored three in response – 3-1. And then thanks to the group stage math the last match against /x/ did not mean anything. Thus /trv/ chose the infamous 2-3-5 +2 game plan, but it failed and got absolutely shattered in what turned out to be team’s worst ever loss 0-6. However, no one cared.

And then just like in Winter, /trv/ could not pass the first knockout stage. It was the cute girls of /c/ who stopped travellers on their journey. An exchange of goals in the first half was followed by an unanswered free kick goal by Yui in the second half. Truly a sad day until you remember that World Cup is merely a memevitational tournament.

2022

The year 2022, in general, was not a nice year for /trv/. In fact, it was the worst year since the team's revival. First, /trv/ got relegated on 3 points from 2022 4chan Winter Cup, losing to /x/ and /pw/ and winning only over /d/. Spring and Autumn were disastrous and we prefer to not talk about it. Some things are best left forgotten. Even a reshaken roster could not help /trv/ find a good playstyle and regain stability.

2023

A distant "We're So Back" has been heard after the soul-crushing "It's So Over" of 2022. Chinese Tour Group and American "Tourist" became the strikers in the new 4-4-2 formation for the 2023 4chan Spring Babby Cup. First two matches /trv/ ran basically on an autopilot with near-zero managerial involvement. A shaky Thanos draw against /m/ was followed by a confident clean sheet win over /w/. All that was needed to advance was to not lose against /u/, a scary opponent. And our team surprised many, with Chinese ants scoring a hat trick and delivering a 3-1 victory. This momentum carried over to the Round of 16, where /trv/ blazed through the defenses of /gd/ on a 4-2 win, until finally crashing into a wall in Quarterfinals against /co/ who then became Spring champions. Tight marking of the Chinese Tour Group allowed /co/ to crush our attacking potential. A valiant effort was made, when being 0-1 down, to switch from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2, and an equalizer was found by American "Tourist". Unfortunately, the penalty kick series were not in our favour. Ukraine Travel Tips fumbled the last kick and ended the run. Despite that, /trv/ finally came back into elites.

In 2023 4chan Summer Cup /trv/ suddenly became the boogieman of the cup, acclaimed by many experts for its efficient playstyle. American "Tourist" left the secondary striker post for "I'm trans if that matters". /trv/ 9-pointed the group with a +8 GD (best group stage performance in /trv/'s history) with victories over /sci//, /c/ and /h/ (the latter while letting a silver CMF rest on the bench). And, as it usually happens, the team with such hype was swiftly destroyed in Round of 16 by /sp/ (2-4). The trans-chinese duo was shutdown by /sp/'s defence, and the two goals from midfielders were not enough. Still, things are looking promising and the team is getting ready for 2024.
