2024 4chan Summer Cup

The 2024 4chan Spring Babby Cup was the fiftieth official 4chan Cup tournament and the thirteenth iteration of the Spring Cup series. Teams that were relegated from the 2024 4chan Winter Cup, those which failed to advance from the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, and those which failed to qualify from the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers, competed at the event.

/sci/ hosted this tournament, as the winners of the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup. /mlp/ defeated a then-undefeated /sp/ 2–1 in the final, winning their fourth trophy and second babby title overall in the process. /tg/ claimed the Third Place trophy with a 4–2 victory over /y/.

Competitors

Thirty-two teams competed at this tournament; sixteen of the teams qualified by means of relegation from the 2024 4chan Winter Cup, seven qualified by means of failing to advance to the knockout stage of the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, four qualified by failing to advance from the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers and five qualified by advancing from the 2024 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.

The group stage draw was held on April 21st, 2024.

Teams are placed in four different pots based on seeding. Seeding is determined by:

  1. The finishing position of the 16 teams relegated from the 2024 4chan Winter Cup in that tournament.
  2. The finishing position of the teams who failed to qualify from the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup group stage.
  3. The finishing position of the teams who advance from the 2024 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.
  4. The finishing position of the teams who failed to qualify from the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Qualifiers.

All of the highest-seeded competitors (the top eight relegated from Winter) are placed in Pot 1; the next-highest in Pot 2, and so on until all pots contain eight teams each.
