Petition to enforce a check on board interest for 4CC teams
We, the various managers of the 4CC, implore the Cup administration to make sure that boards show actual interest for the Cup to be permitted to participate.
This is purely for the health of the Cup; there are simply too many teams without board interest, only run by a single interested person (who may or may not be a merc in some cases). Meanwhile, we have boards with actual, interested fanbases getting displaced by teams virtually no-one actually cares about. A plan to do something like this was actually worked out in the past, but unfortunately that never got off the ground for certain reasons.
Checking for this could be on a case-by-case basis, possibly similar to the criteria used for recent /vg/ leagues. While some boards, like /a/, have clear interest, smaller boards should be able to present archived threads expressing interest or decent numbers of replies on (in-depth) team polls.
The exact mechanism could be determined later, but something needs to be done here.

If VGL can do it 4CC can do it too. (´・ω・`) (talk) 00:46, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
I actually agree, as kek worthy as the ded teams may be. Old Man Sou (talk) 00:52, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
Might possibly be some problems with doing this but in the end I support something like it a useless shitter gw, wiki autist and /vg/ manager 00:55, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

I'm just a tester, but I kinda agree with this. RoronaBest (talk) 00:57, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
Having to prove that my board was interested and involved made me a better manager, and more excited to represent our team. DukeSilver (talk) 00:58, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
I realize I'm not in the best position when it comes to talking about this matter, but I think it's an important issue that needs to be discussed seriously. PWJP (talk) 01:06, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

VGL and 4CC are different, and I've said before that I don't think just using the VGL method will work in 4CC, but I'd say it's something that needs to be discussed now. QD (talk) 02:30, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
You know, the Cup feels much more alive when two teams play each other, and you know that if you lose, it wasn't because PES sucked the dick of a half-finished autopilot that no one cares about, but a team that -- even if they don't have a manager -- put in effort to want to see the win happen: made the team come alive.
