/u/ v /mlp/

Background: U icon.png /u/ don't exactly have a nice history with Mlp icon.png /mlp/. The first time they met, /u/ were a fledgling team playing their second cup ever, and /mlp/ treated them as such, handing them their biggest, most 5PA1NFUL loss ever on the way to winning the whole damn cup. The second time they met, /u/ were juuuuuuust a little better than the old days, but /mlp/ didn't mind, beating them 3–2 on the way to their first star. The third time, /u/ were even better still, having made the last cup's final. They didn't lose this time, but they were losing for most of the match, needing a miracle comeback to draw 2–2. Oh, and /mlp/ won another star.

/mlp/ v /fit/

Background: Before they combined to win four straight elite cups, Mlp icon.png /mlp/ and Fit icon.png /fit/ played each other in Summer 2015's group of death. The match itself was a 1–1 draw, which ended up being the difference between winning a star and being relegated.

/his/ v /mlp/

Background: Then-defending fetus "winners" His icon.png /his/ were the benefactors of Mlp icon.png /mlp/'s first failure in their worst cup run ever, taking the matchup 2–1 on the way to their first promotion.

/fit/ v /u/

Background: U icon.png /u/'s biggest win ever remains arguably their biggest upset ever. In the 2013 4chan Summer Cup, they promoted solely due to /vp/ being part of Dragongate and got drawn with three at-the-time Elites. To make expectations even worse, they went without a live manager for their first match. Luckily for them, their opponent, Fit icon.png /fit/, didn't have their live manager either, and the result was nothing short of a bloodbath. /u/ won 4–0, sending /fit/ into a death spiral that took them over a year to fully recover from. /fit/ came back after bulking up on Babby opponents and busparked their way to needing a mere one point to advance from the 2015 4chan Summer Cup's Group of Death. They didn't get that point, losing 2–0 to /u/. The third time /u/ and /fit/ met had even higher stakes; it was the 2016 4chan Winter Cup Final. This time, /fit/ got the sweetest revenge, letting /u/ get 15 minutes away from their first star in extra time before taking it for themselves in a 4–3 win. The fourth time was supposed to have high stakes as part of Grip Weekend, but by the time it was played, /u/ were already through and /fit/ (at the time defending their second star) needed to win by four to get through. /fit/ got an early lead, but ended up drawing 1–1 and being relegated by /u/ like the good old days.
