The Team
/vg/ League 1
Managed by Arrows, /lolg/ did not have a great time in the /vg/ League. Facing /smtg/, /fgg/ and /d2g/, they went out on group stages after /fgg/ cleanly took them out 2-1, drawing /d2g/ in the least interesting ASSFAGGOTS derby imaginable 0-0, and getting finished by /smtg/ who would win 4-2. They ended 3rd of their group just ahead of /d2g/ but couldn't advance to the knockouts.
/vg/ League 2
This time, managed by Cyclohexane !!4LPJDnm9UYM, /lolg/ had a much, much better showing in the group stage. A strong beginning against newcomers /domg/ would give the team its first win, a clean sweep 6-1 with a hat trick from Based Mang and goals from SEX KING, OUR GUY and HotshotGG. They then faced /acg/, runner-ups of the first /vg/ League and after an incredibly tight game where the /acg/ goalkeeper, Bridge Placement, would save 9 shots from /lolg/, the lolbabbies would finally find a goal with SEX KING, putting them in a very comfortable spot in their group. Finally, they once more had a stellar performance against another new team, /civ4xg/, which they took out 5-1 with braces by Based Mang and Giraffes and a goal from OUR GUY. Topping their group with 9 points and the highest score difference in the /vg/ League 2 at +10, they would be #1 on the rankings and thus got a BYE to the Quarterfinals, where they would face the winner of /igg/ vs /dng/. When /dng/ stepped up and took out /igg/, things looked great for /lolg/, as they were effectively facing the lowest ranked team to advance (on only 3 points). However, things would not go as planned as Cyclohexane had a hard drive failure the night before the match, preventing him from testing and elaborating a strategy against /dng/. The match in itself was intense, but /dng/ would eventually get the best of /lolg/ and win 3-2, with a goal from Based Mang and OUR GUY. /dng/ then went on to win the /vg/ League 2.
With 6 goals, Based Mang would get the Golden Boot award of the /vg/ League 2.
/vg/ League 3
/lolg/ went right back to mediocrity for its third run in the league. They looked convincing early on but couldn't get the win against /dfg/ and drew 3-3. Then things went south when /lolg/ replayed /civ4xg/ and couldn't get any attack going and lost to an unimpressive 1-0 result. Finally, they got dumpstered by /vitagen/ in a 4-1 result (although 77 CB Based Mang still managed to score the only game of the match as an out of position AMF) and crashed out in the last place of their group. Cyclohexane then decided to retire after the fact.
/vg/ League 4
Cyclohexane returned to the management of /lolg/ but this time was assisted by 4chan Cup Commissionner DrBorisG !!uWmnP2zIyZF in a pact to get the team out of Bronze V. In this they were mostly successful at least. /lolg/ opened with a thrashing of a dead /srg/ 4-1 including new gold striker SEX KING getting a hat trick. In the second match they were stymied by a massive effort from /gsg/'s keeper to hold the match to 0-0. In the final group stage match, a defensive stand against /dfg/ and a lone lucky breakthrough by gold AMF >riven mains was enough to take a 1-0 win and advance on top of the group. In the Round of 16, the opponent was /csgog/ one of the autopilot teams that managed to advance. The match was mostly in /lolg/'s control. Despite a midgame answer from /csgog/, F-FREE STATS!? was able to find an second goal and advancement to the quarterfinal. In the Quarterfinal howerever, /lolg/ couldn't find a way to make an attack stick against /nepgen/'s defense and despite a heroic longstanding defense of the opposition's final push to the Nexus, /lolg/ lost to a 119' goal just before the match would have gone to PKs. The team would finish seventh on aggregate stats, but without any particularly tournament-standout players. SEX KING was named the rep from the general to the /vg/ team.
/vg/ League 5
Confident with their good results last league, Cyclohexane and DrBorisG returned to manage /lolg/ once more. It was however a rough start as /lolg/ took a first harsh 4-2 defeat against /ksg/, but they were later able to advance thanks to a dominating win over /dsg/ 4-1 with a double brace for F-FREE STATS? and scraping a draw 2-2 against /ink/. They somehow managed to top their group with only 4 points, as the second place, /ksg/, had the same amount but a lower goal difference after drawing /ink/ and losing to /dsg/. They then faced /fgg/ in the round of 16 for an esports derby. The match was overall very close but thanks to a quick opening by F-FREE STATS? and excellent goalkeeping late by >me unga >team bunga /lolg/ was able to win 3-2 and reach the quarterfinals for the third time. Unfortunately their run would end once more in quarters as /ffg/ took them out cleanly 3-1 and went on to be the /vg/ League 5 winners. /lolg/ would however manage to get their top result with a 5th place overall. Killing Machine, the gold centre forward was elected to represent /lolg/ in the /vg/ team.
/vg/ League 6
On his own once again, Cyclohexane is back to manage /lolg/ in hopes of a top 4 finish. Using an unconventional 3-3-4 formation, /lolg/ was not favored to do well in the league yet were very decisive on their first match against /feg/ where they won 4-2 with a hat trick from Killing Machine and a goal from >riven mains. They however looked out of sorts against their next opponent, /mgg/ and were handed a clinical 3-0 defeat. At this point a win in their last match would have guaranteed a knockout round seed but unfortunately /bdog/ put the team very far behind 3-0 in the first half before /lolg/ had a heroic comeback thanks to F-FREE STATS?!, Killing Machine and >riven mains to make it 3-4, but /lolg/'s defense committing hilarious blunders doomed them to a 5-4 loss. Cyclohexane decided to retire after the fact, calling that match "the greatest game of his life".
/vg/ League 7
After Cyclohexane stepped down as a manager /lolg/ was managed by Resolink. The team looked solid in VGL 7, being a 4-3-3 and with /ourguy/ HotshotGG as a new Gold medal. /lolg/ found themselves in Group C against the newcomer /lzg/, /utg/ and /nepgen/ and everything started much worse than expected. The team got steamrolled by a surprisingly strong /lzg/ side and /lolg/ had a mountain to climb being 0-4 down after the first half. However /lolg/ fought back and made it 4-4 after only 17 minutes. In the end PES didn't reward such fighting spirit and /lzg/ took the victory with a goal in injury time in one of the greatest matches in VGL 7. Next up was /utg/ and somehow /lolg/ took the lead early thanks to our captain uhhh lolbabs?. Failing to find anything against /utg/'s possession game playing style things started going south, /utg/ turned the game around and ultimately they went home with a 3-1 victory under their belt and /lolg/ being eliminated in the group stage in just two days. In the end /lolg/ had to avoid being rock bottom in group C and they did find a way with a new formation: The unbeatable 2-5-3. /lolg/ dominated the last game against /nepgen/ which showed in a 5-2 victory, leaving the neps with only one point and on the bottom of the group. After VGL 7 >riven mains became the new rep for the /vg/ team.
