Highest-ranked team in the tournament and Spring Babby Cup finalists /3/ will be favourites to progress from Group D of the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, but they will need to perform well against /mlp/ and competition newcomers /hm/ and /diy/ in order to advance.
Summary
Matchday 1
It was a tense affair for /3/ and /diy/ in their opening fixture, with the match seemingly heading towards a rare scoreless draw until 3DS Max scored for /3/ in the late stages.
/mlp/ and /hm/'s match started in a similar fashion but sprung into life in the second half with four goals in 20 minutes. /mlp/ took the lead with >rape, only to have his goal cancelled out by Anderson Cooper two minutes later. But he scored again just afterwards to regain the lead, only for /hr/ to claw their way back with a Blonde Fernando Torres equaliser.
Matchday 2
/3/'s early success counted for little as they were totally dominated by /mlp/. Braces from Best Pony and >rape showed the spectators what they are all about at this tournament.
/diy/ also looked to right the wrongs of their previous match and did so with a 1-0 victory over /hm/, setting up a fascinating closing matchday with the group tightly poised.
Matchday 3
/diy/ were fighting for their cup survival against /mlp/, but the latter stamped their authority on the game with goals from Cheeselegs, Best Pony and >rape after fifty minutes. /diy/ did their best to fight their way back into the match but two goals was the most they could muster.
With the /diy/ defeat it was up to /hm/ or /3/ to capitalise and claim a place in the Round of 16. An Anderson Cooper goal after thirty-seven minutes was cancelled out by 3DS Max after the break, but Cooper found a winner late on to knock /3/ out in a shock turn of events while /hm/ advanced.
