Group G of the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup is arguably the cutest of the bunch, containing /an/, /c/, /cm/ and /y/.
Summary
Matchday 1
A poor challenge by Takashi Natsume after fifteen minutes gave away a penalty to /an/, but it was saved magnificently by Date Masamune. The deadlock in the even match was finally broken in the second half with a Shuu Iwamine effort from 25 yards. Honeybadger equalised with a free kick from equal range to leave both teams sharing the points.
/c/'s lack of physical presence seemed to prove costly in a 2-0 defeat to /y/. Footjob Thread opened the scoring with a shot on the turn on the edge of the penalty area, and Black doubled the advantage at the death after /c/ keeper Ika-chan could only parry a Delete Your Missfires shot.
Matchday 2
A six-goal thriller was played out at the Saitama Stadium between /an/ and /y/, with the teams sharing the spoils after ninety minutes. Brown Recluse opened the scoring for /an/ but /y/ found a reply twenty minutes later courtesy of Delete Your Missfires. Scanned Snake regained the lead for his side just before the break, and /an/ went 3-1 ahead after half time courtesy of Honeybadger. An instant reply from /y/ saw Ramen Yaoi and Black make it 3-3 in just 10 minutes.
A quickfire double for /cm/ put them two ahead after a quarter of an hour against /c/ whose campaign looked to be dead in the water. Goals just before the end of each half were not enough for them to make an impression on the match or the group.
Matchday 3
While neither team was entirely safe, a draw was probably the surest way to see both /y/ and /cm/ advance. The resultant 1-1 draw seemed appropriate in the circumstances but the match wasn't quite plain sailing for /cm/ as Takashi Natsume saw a straight red at the death to give their manager a selection headache going into the Round of 16.
An /an/ win could have seen the side shake up the group and secure their own spot in the next round but it was not to be as /c/ played for pride and earned their first point of the tournament thanks to goals from UGUU~ and Karin.
