There's a general for Five Nights? Yes! There's a team? Yes again! Jump scares, paranoia, and The Joy Of Creation abound, /5N@F/ is a /vg/ league team that stormed onto the scene in the third edition of the /vg/ league and won their first cup on their first shot. Maintenance is key when dealing with animatronics, but Freddy and his Fazbearians are sure to give the competition THE KNOT.

/vg/ League 8
Unable to secure a new manager in time for /vg/ League 8, /5N@F/ was entered as an autopilot team instead. This time the group stage draw would place them in Group H alongside /rs07g/ and /vitagen/, two fellow long-standing teams, and /pg/, a newer team that had climbed out of the VGL8 Qualifiers.
/5N@F/'s first match would be against /rs07g/. The two teams were rather evenly-matched, neither breaking through until 41 minutes in, with Souldozer dozing his way into the Runescape 07 net. This small lead wouldn't last for long, however, as /rs07g/'s gz would sink a shot in at 73', equalizing the score. Neither team could find another goal before time expired, leaving the game a 1-1 draw.
/vitagen/ would be /5N@F/'s second opponent, and the match seemed promising for the team at first as /vitagen/ suffered a 1' yellow card on Cute Anime Girls, a silver medal player, and Mike Schmidt was able to put in an early goal at 27'. However, /vitagen/ would come back quickly as The Biggest Dub Ever answered 8 minutes later at 35', with a subsequent taking of the lead with a Vita Means Life goal at 58'. /5N@F/ would be unable to find an equalizer before the clock ran out, leaving the match a loss for /5N@F/, 1-2.
The final match for /5N@F/ would be against /pg/, and how the group had played out to that point had left them in a somewhat desperate and rocky situation. To advance, /5N@F/ would not only need to win this final game, but would need to do so by 2 goals in order to overcome /pg/'s GD advantage. A tactical blunder by The Knot and THE PHANTOM would result in GOROFAGS capitalizing and stealing away an early 12' goal for /pg/. Things seemed dire, but All Business was able to connect with a pass and head the ball into /pg/'s net at 31' to equalize. Mike Schmidt would follow up with another at 63' to make it 2-1, putting /5N@F/ in the lead but still needing one more goal to be able to advance to the knockouts. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the team was unable to find that third goal, leaving /5N@F/ walking away with a well-earned win against /pg/, but unable to continue to the Round of 16.
/5N@F/'s first attempt at being an autopilot was not as fruitless as their worst ever run in VGL6, despite their inability to advance and make the top 16. They would be able to maintain a presence on the /vg/ roster, albeit on the bench once more, and Mike Schmidt would be called upon once again to represent /5N@F/. Beyond that, the team would have to look towards the future once again, hoping that VGL9 would find them a new manager and new success.

Two of the most cancerous generals on /vg/ who have both a lot in common and little in common. They both rely on drawfags for new content most of the time, they both have secret circlejerks, they both waifu disgusting furries of either the robotic or monster (or both) type, they both like to discuss alternate universes and they both are not well-liked outside their own walls. They also both hate each other and actually care more or less about VGL divegrass for some reason, hence a rivalry is natural. So far the two teams have never faced in an official VGL match, but they've met twice in friendlies, with /utg/ beating /5N@F/ once in the VGL5 Friendlies 2-0 and /5N@F/ beating /utg/ in Rigging After Dark 3-2. |

One team's a bunch of ghost-infested robots dressed up in fur and plastic suits, the other team's a crack contingent of Squaddies and Rookies looking to best the extraterrestrial and paranormal. /5N@F/ and /xcg/ have met twice on the pitch, once in an invitational and once in the Ro16 of a /vg/ League, with the unusual circumstance of both times having ended in a draw and penalties determining the loser and winner. Both times have also seen /xcg/ grabbing victory and advancement. Will this spooky trend continue in the future? |
