The Eighth Founding is the name currently given to the teams that formed after Hiroyuki Nishimura expanded the website in 2017. As of April 10th, 2018, two teams gained entry into the 4chan Cup. These teams had to demonstrate interest within their respective board in order to be allowed to compete in the Cup, and made their debut in the 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.
Trivia
- The Eighth Founding is the only 4chan Cup founding ever to consist of only red boards.
- As of the conclusion of the 2023 4chan Spring Babby Cup, /aco/ have the higher efficiency of this Founding at 31.11%, while /bant/ have the lower efficiency at 25.49%.
