Summary

Matchday 1

Everyone expected /mu/ to win, but /gd/ nearly put those hopes to bed with an early lead. However, Mangum managed to equalize the game for /mu/ just before the half, and The Deak managed to break through a /gd/ that began to fall apart in the second half. Despite being closer than expected, /mu/ managed to eke out a fairly well-fought victory over /gd/. However, this close victory raises questions about the team's chances in the Round of 16, going up against other star teams like /toy/ and /wg/.

The virginity-protecting chastity belt defense of /u/ and the long-loading backline of /gif/ led to the first scoreless draw of the 2014 Winter Cup. Some decent shots and breakthroughs were stymied by awake goalkeepers and strong defense. Retortlement revealed that the 4chan Cup was NSFW, and we end the day witth /mu/ likely to advance and /u/ struggling to escape the grasp of /gd/ and /gif/.

Matchday 2

Conditions and tactics negated each other in this game. The purest team in the cup remained uncorrupted by wins or losses, and remained in contention for advancement from Group D. /u/'s strategy was suprisingly offensive, and while possession was dominated by /mu/, /u/ was able to keep the legendary offense on the back foot, preventing them from building up the momentum they needed to turn this game into a goalfest. Meanwhile, /u/ found their many shots on target blocked or negated by /mu/'s defense, a defense that was matched by /mu/'s reluctance to really challenge the purest form of defense. Things picked up in the second half though, with Homucifer taking advantage of a terrible fumble by /mu/ GK Varg Vikernes to score /u/'s first goal of the tournament. Unfortunately, Talentless Hack immediately answered by taking advantage of /u/ GK Madokami's own fumble and shooting a rebound back into the open net. Truly, the purest form of divegrass is drawing.

Much trolling by /gd/ managed M3ow saw /gd/ launched out of the Winter Cup as /gif/ raped the tiny logo of /gd/ without any lube. Sauce grabbed a hat trick as he and his twin brother Source demolished /gd/'s ineffective 2-man defense, giving the fans much Ass n' Titties, and /gd/'s ridiculous logo-shaped formation fell apart when confronted by the sight of Sexy Celebs in the goal. Only the hyper-ridiculous /gd/ conga line looked to be moving the game more in /gd/'s favor, but it's one-man defense was even worse and keeping /gif/ from scoring. Even as /gif/ celebrates, it has come to light that M3OWMIX, /gd/'s manager, deliberately played shit formations because he did not believe he could win the game and threw the match in order to get into the Spring Babbies and be better seeded for Summer. For his antics, M3OWMIX has been banned from the cup, effective immediately, and /u/ finds themselves going into an incredibly easy match. We hope they win.

Matchday 3

Proof that M3OW was absolute shit as a manager, /gd/'s only victory comes after they are >ded. 2 first half goals by /gd/, thanks to an offensive midfield and a /u/ defense that exposed gaping holes for /gd/. A single goal by Homucifer seemed to keep /u/ in the game, but the second half saw shit play by /u/'s forwards, not enough panic by /u/'s manager, and a wide-awake /gd/ defense assisted by refball. /u/'s defeat by a managerless team leaves Group D decided for /mu/ and /gif/.

A mostly irrelevant game that would decide who would face /h/ and who would face /toy/ in the Knockouts. 2 goals, one of them a nice bounce over /mu/'s GK by Is This Real?, put /gif/ at the top of Group D and /mu/ in second place. /gif/ will see if their outdated memes can defeat the nostalgia of /toy/, while /mu/ prepares for a rematch with /h/'s drunken, Bittenlel strategies.
