Summary

Matchday 1

Apparently played on Deep Rot, the unded computer, this match was surprisngly free of rigging and SPOOKY antics, except for some strange goalhorn antics and a lack of chants. /v/'s traditional scoremakers were in worse conditioning when compared to /x/'s, but /x/ was unable to hold onto their lead in the face of a rampaging Gaben. We look forward to seeing what the now-living /x/ does in its next match.

Cheeky fucking lobs let /int/ take an early 2-1 lead despite excellent conditioning on /c/'s side, thanks to the excellent skills of Polandball and Putin, but a surprisingly strong /c/ offense and some good tactics changes led to the game being tied at the end of the first half. In the battle of the offensive forwards though, /c/ took the lead by having a better defense and more coordinated offense than their opponents, with more passing and better styling around their opponent's defenders. /c/ player Yui proved herself Best K-On, while Sayaka overcame threats of being fired to become Best Meguca. An entirely unanticipated result, considering the traditional strength of /int/ and the weakness of /c/, but we go into next week's matches full of anticipation.

Matchday 2

With PES2014 deciding that all the players were Rayman, it looked to be a good day for /v/ to play. A Purple Putin and a 0' yellow card on gold player Captain Sweden did not bode well for /int/, but in this goalfest of a game, it was two bronze /v/ players that would decide the outcome of the game. A Purple Console Peasant scored the first goal and Galo Sengen roared out over the stadium for the first time in months. Not content to allow his hated rival to be the only scorer on the team, PC Gaming Master Race scored two more goals before teh end of the first half as /int/'s defense found themselves being outrun by the quick-paced wingers of /v/. Mid-game offensive panic by /int/'s manager saw /int/'s strikers choke on easy, close goal shots, but silver player Argentina White managed to get /int/ on the board. Despite /v/ parking multiple buses, Argentina White managed to score a second time, putting /v/ at risk of a draw. But it wasn't enough, /v/ held out, and the game ended with a non-scoring Villager being 7.5 Man of the Match.

An ultra-SPOOKY void stadium and shinless shenanigans did not crash the game today, despite /x/'s best efforts. Some great conditioning for /x/ presaged a tough game for the surprise group leader /c/. Star forward Yui found herself a mere Blue against /x/'s Pyramid Red, while a Red Nope in /x/'s goal meant that /c/ would need the best of luck to score. Despite PES2014 nerfing headers, Pyramid Head took the lead for /x/ at 18' after forcing his way through an active /c/ defense, while /c/'s /c/ute little girl offense found themselves held off by /x/'s comparatively giant defense, despite somehow managing two fouls in the space of twenty seconds among other murderball tactics. A horrible fumble by PES2014's RNG saw /c/ GK Miho Nishizumi roll the ball to X-tan after saving it from a shot by Pyramid Head, giving /x/ it's second goal and a decisive advantage in the first quarter. Through the second half, the diminutive players of /c/ played their hearts out against /x/ and got off a few good shots, but they were unable to get on the board. With this result, /c/ finds itself in danger of relegation depending on the results of Sunday's game, while /int/ finds itself relegated at the bottom of the group and its Elite status as gone as Dragonfag.

Matchday 3

After struggling through the Summer qualifiers and barely escaping with their Elite status, /int/'s last game in the Winter Cup could have brought down /x/ with them, but they found themselves being completely blown out yet again instead. Aside from Pyramid Head missing his iconic head on the pitch, there weren't any real SPOOKY antics in /x/'s game, though the series of crashes later in the day proved that /x/ was still SPOOKY. A weak defense and decent midfield play through the first half would see both sides stymied, until The Gray used his alien technology to take two goals, the first a surprisingly good header from such a small player. Pyramid Head would seal /int/'s fall with his own goal, and /x/ would advance unhindered to face their old enemy /mlp/ in a rematch of their game from Spring 2012.

The struggle of /c/ ends here in a hard-fought battle as /v/ defeats these perennial underdogs 2-1. Despite /c/ GK Ika-Chan doing a stentacular job of blocking /v/'s shots with help from some decent midfield play by /c/'s defenders, Reggie Fils-Aime found a hole and put /v/ in the lead at 22'. Other attempts to extend that lead, taken by a PC Master Race fresh from his stellar performance against /int/, and star forward Gaben, were stopped by /c/ long enough for 4chan mascot Yotsuba to score and keep /c/'s dreams alive early in the second half after a shift to more offensive tactics. But /c/ never came out ahead, and Gabe Newell styled his way into a run on /c/'s goal that crushed the dreams of /c/'s innocent little girls. /v/ advances to face rigged-in newcomers /asp/ in the Round of 16, a match that will prove whether /asp/ can compete at the highest levels of cup play, or if their victories were simply a fluke. With this game, we say goodbye to /c/ manager /c/rispy, and thank him for his tenure in making /c/ a real contender.
