Due to the poor performance last autumn, /mu/ had to fight their way through the fetus and found themselves in a group with /c/, [s4s] and /i/. In the first match against /c/, not much happened. /mu/ started on the back foot 1-0 down but managed to scrape off a draw later thanks to a John Lennon equalizer, who also is rocking some hot new boxing gloves for more efficient wife beating this season. In the second match against [s4s], even less happened. While both boards exchanged some fun mixtapes to honor the friendship of both boards, the sole goal of this match came early from John Lennon again to end this match 1-0. The third match against /i/ was much more exciting for the wildest of reasons: Only needing a draw to secure promotion to spring, /mu/ still started off the match very well, scoring 2 early goals to make it 2-0 at 33'. Then the first panic changes from /i/ flew in, which did not result in them turning the game around, but the complete opposite. /mu/ quickly scored 2 more goals before the end of the half, also securing a first half hat trick from no set pieces by Jeff. 4-0 at half, /i/ spent about 10 minutes during the half time break trying to figure out anything and ended up completely scraping off their game plan and going full all out attack starting the second half. To nobody's surprise, this did nothing and /mu/ kept on scoring one after another, securing another hat trick for John Lennon and even letting the fucking jazz hating orange cat score to make it his first ever official goal. From humble beginnings as one of the original 16 teams of the 4chan Cup to a championship all their own, /mu/ have persevered through good times and bad. Managed by a crack team (though "alcohol team" sounds more appropriate) of patricians and overseen by Jesus Christ himself, the team seeks not only to win titles but to have fun as well. Whether through our goalhorns, silly socks or ridiculous banter, fun is valued both by the team and the board. After all, how seriously can actually take virtual roundputt based on a Tagalog face-painting website? We have plenty of exciting things planned for 2025, so stay tuned and thank you for your support!

Due to the poor performance last autumn, /mu/ had to fight their way through the fetus and found themselves in a group with /c/, [s4s] and /i/. In the first match against /c/, not much happened. /mu/ started on the back foot 1-0 down but managed to scrape off a draw later thanks to a John Lennon equalizer, who also is rocking some hot new boxing gloves for more efficient wife beating this season. In the second match against [s4s], even less happened. In the proper spring cup, /mu/ found themselves in a very strange group with three different autopilots: /int/, /n/ and /r9k/. Despite being all autopilots, the group was exciting from the first game to the last: The first game against /int/ was filled with lots of murder; All the goals fell late in the first half in back-to-back-to-back goals from kick off, ending 2-2 at the end of the match. The second match against /n/ was even more intense: /mu/ found the lead early, but /n/ was able to equalize not too long afterwards. Then later, /mu/ scored again, but again /n/ equalized. It seems that there would be another 2-2 dead lock at the end of the match, but with a last ditch effort, Jeff stole the ball of a defender late into injury time and found a golden pass to Yaydolf Hitler forma de Ye, who scored the game winner at 90+5'. In a similar situation as in the fetus, all /mu/ had to do was draw the last game, which after dominating most of the match stat wise, the efficiency of /r9k/ proved to be way too brutal: /mu/ lost the match 4-3 and it even came worse late, with MC Ride getting sent off after receiving a straight red card. /mu/ now had to hope that the next match between /n/ and /int/ would not be a 2+ win by either team. For most of the match, /n/ was leading 2-0 and /mu/ almost lost hope, but a late goal by /n/ meant the match finishes 2-1 and /mu/ just barely managed to escape the group with 4 points. With a lot of hope for summer, but a suspended MC Ride, the match against /f/ in the round of 16 will be an up hill battle. Despite MC Ride being suspended, thanks to a tactical shake up /mu/ managed to completely dominate this match defensively while also scoring two quick goals early, resulting in a 2-0 win. Coming up in the quarter finals are /u/, looking to finish their grand slam. We will see if /mu/ can be a reasonable challenger in this match.

Rivalries
As an original sixteen team and a champion, it stands to reason that /mu/ has a storied history in the 4chan cup and a host of rivalries to go along with it. These rivalries have been important, recurring, and most of all, loads of fun!

| The Ol' War Song The best rivalries develop organically. /mu/-/k/ is the perfect example of this and in many ways the perfect rivalry in the 4chan cup. /mu/’s oldest and fiercest rivals, the /k/ommandos have never failed to meet up with the /mu/tants somewhere along the way whenever both teams have made their way to the same tournament. The first meeting between these two storied sides occurred in the original 2011 Summer Cup, which /mu/ took by a scoreline of 2-1. /k/ however returned fire next Winter, defeating /mu/ in a penalty shootout on their way to hoisting a 4chan cup. Once again, the two sides met the following Summer Cup, which ended in an explosive 3-3 stalemate in the group stages. Meeting again next Winter, we were to see a completely different story. /mu/ would reassert their dominance in style, outgunning the weapons board by seven goals to one, led by captain Jeff Mangum’s then-record 5 goals in a single game, helping send /k/ down to their first-ever babby cup. The two would not meet again until /mu/’s own Championship run in Summer 2014, where the game was decided in /mu/’s favor off a late Talentless Hack goal. Back in Winter, the /k/ommandos look to find /mu/ somewhere on the battlefield so they may tip the scales of this historic rivalry back in their favor, and the /mu/tants not only expect but relish the opportunity to meet the old enemy on the field once more in the best rivalry in the 4chan Cup. /a/ and /sp/ wish they could have a rivalry this great. /mu/ leads this rivalry with 4 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss. |
