The Eighth Founding is the name currently given to the teams that formed after Hiroyuki Nishimura expanded the website in 2017. As of April Fools Day 2018, one team gained entry into the 4chan Cup. This team had to demonstrate interest within its respective board in order to be allowed to compete in the Cup, and are set to debut in the upcoming 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup.

The Eighth Founding is currently the first 4chan Cup founding ever to consist of only one team.
