The Eighth Founding is the name currently given to the teams that formed after Hiroyuki Nishimura expanded the website in 2017. As of April 10th, 2018, two teams gained entry into the 4chan Cup. These teams had to demonstrate interest within their respective board in order to be allowed to compete in the Cup, and are set to debut in the upcoming 2018 4chan Spring Babby Cup Qualifiers.
