The 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup was the fifth official 4chan Cup tournament, the second iteration of the Babby Cup series, and the inaugural Autumn edition of the competition. It was hosted by /m/ as winner of the previous Babby Cup, and was held from October 12 to 14, and October 19 to 21.

The tournament featured a mix of teams that failed to qualify for the Summer Cup via the Spring Babby Cup, teams that were relegated from the previous Summer Cup, and new entries hoping to qualify.

Teams making their full debut at this tournament included /c/, /diy/, /h/, /hm/, /hr/, /ic/, /trv/, /u/, /vg/ and /wg/. Teams making their Babby Cup debut included /adv/ (given their disqualification from the previous Babby Cup), /fa/, /g/, /b/, /tv/ and /v/.

This tournament was the last to use Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 as a platform. Events from the 2013 4chan Winter Cup Friendlies onwards would use Pro Evolution Soccer 2013

The cup was won by newcomer board /wg/ with an assured run to the cup, defeating /r9k/ in the final 5-1 to emerge victorious. /tv/ beat /vg/ 3-1 to take third place. The Golden Boot was won by /wg/'s Cunt Destroyer with an unmatched 13 goals. Spacecat, also of /wg/, was the top assister with six.

Draw

The draw for the group stages was made on Sunday, September 30th. Teams were placed in four different pots based on seeding. Official rankings following the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup Friendlies were used to rank teams. All of the highest-ranked competitors were placed in Pot 1, the next-highest in Pot 2 and so on until all four pots contained eight teams.

/an/, /cm/, /diy/, /ic/, /o/, /vp/ and /y/ were retroactively disqualified from this competition for being significantly influenced by Dragonfag. Their results in this tournament were judged to be void and their opponents were awarded wins. The aforementioned teams received no ranking points for their participation in this tournament.

/fa/ striker Young Stalin was the first player to score a goal in the competition, in their 2-3 defeat to /wg/, the opening match of the tournament. /lit/ defender False Dichotomy was credited with the first own goal of the tournament, in his side's 4-1 loss to /gif/. The first hat-trick of the tournament was scored by Bill Nye of /sci/ in a 4-1 win against /f/ on the opening matchday.

Cunt Destroyer was the winner of the Golden Boot outright with 13 goals for /wg/. The Golden Boot went to /wg/ player Spacecat who managed an unmatched six assists. 232 goals were scored at the 2012 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, which was at the time the highest of any 4chan Cup. This record was later broken by the 2013 4chan Winter Cup, which saw 254 goals.
