Due to /pol/ winning the previous AkkoLeague, Akko was given nuclear launch codes and bombed both the team (who are banned) and the cup back to the 1980's! Sixteen teams will compete to see who comes home to the present with the First Place Coveted Custom AkkoDaki cover of their choosing!
The note sent reads:

Rules and Housekeeping (Will be periodically amended)
AKKOLEAGUE IV WILL BE USING NORMAL 4CC RULES FOR PLAY. Click the link for the rules
- O fug cup fatigue is settling in time to adjust rules. :DDDDDD (remember, 4cc GGSSS is used)
- Newfriends, less experienced managers, testers and managers that haven't been doing hot are accepted!
- We're brushing up to cup day and the league hasn't been filled. If you haven't been doing extremely well in /vg/lel or 4cc you can apply.
- PLS be able to livemanage most days. Pastebins are accepted for days you aren't around.
- Submit any team you like! Whether it's 4cc, /vg/league (Unless I get yelled at. Then this part of the page will change) or your favorite invitaional/created team!
- You MUST not copycat cup winning tactics either 1 for 1 or high similarity (complain at me if you have some technicality that's valid and I'll ask around)
- There likely will be a HYP intro. If you are a brand new team or team with a low amount of games played, please submit aesthetics 2 weeks before cup day for good representation.
- AUTOPILOTS will fill out the remaining invitational slots if 16 teams haven't been achieved. Check below for said autos.
- As it stands either Akkolel3 Swiss or a normal 16 team Group Stage tourney will take hold.

BACKUPS/Dunnos
THE AUTOPILOT MENACE (if signups dont reach 16*)
Format
Sixteen teams will compete on this tournament. The 16 teams will go through 4 rounds of matches in order to determine the 4 teams that will directly advance to a single elimination knockout stage, the 4 teams that will seed the second round of playoffs, and the 8 teams that will take part on the first round of playoffs.
Swiss Group
Each round of matches is drawn based on each team's position in the standings except for the first round, where a live draw will arrange the matches. Each round will be increasingly tougher due to each team being paired with teams progressively closer to their own level after each round. If two teams were to be drawn together twice, each one of them will be given a different opponent. The opponent will be the closest team in the standings that is available.
Playoffs
Once the 4 rounds of matches are done, the Top 4 in the standings will seed the knockout bracket, while teams placed 5th to 8th seed the second round of playoffs. The remaining 8 teams placed 9th to 16th will face eachother in the first round of playoffs, in which the winner of each match will face the teams who directly qualified to the second round. Finally, the winner of each second round match will qualify to the knockout stage.
Knockouts
The knockout stage will be composed of 8 teams, 4 that directly qualified from the swiss group and 4 that qualified through playoffs. Each round consists of the usual Quarterfinals, Semifinals, 3rd Place and Final matches.
Tie-breaking
If two or more teams were to have an equal amount of points in the standings at any point of the Swiss Group, the Buscholz Score will be the first stat to be considered for tie-breaking. The Buscholz Score consists on adding the scores of every opponent each team has faced up to that point. The team with the highest Buscholz Score will be considered to be the one that has faced the toughest opposition and will be awarded the highest place in the standings. If the Buscholz Scores are equal, then the usual GD, GF, W and Name tie-breaking format will be used.
Modifications to the Original Format
The modifications made to the original format focus on rebalancing the playoff and knockouts brackets. While the matches themselves were properly arranged, the brackets were set up in such a way that one side of the bracket would have a stronger average strength than the other. That means, that the quarter-finals and semifinals could potentially be more competitive than the actual final, which would undo a lot of the work done prior to keep things fair for everyone.
As a result, the brackets have gone from being seeded with 1st and 2nd on one side, and 3rd and 4th on the other, to, 1st and 4th on one side, and 2nd and 3rd on the other. Once again, this only affects the brackets, the matchups and way the playoffs feed into each team's away side still works in the exact same way, with 1st getting 5th, 9th or 13th as their opponent, and so on.
