The Superb Owl: Spring 2015
Madden's Notes
AFCW Ildcard:
Autumn Champions /vp/ entered the Spring Owl with little hope of a repeat title. After poor play in PES, their team was downgraded and the #McBoppening looked to be over as soon as soon as it had started. There was hope however, in the fact that /vp/ had drawn a theoretically weak /a/ in the wildcard round. /a/, who had upset /mlp/ to barely claim the AFC East crown, weren't even supposed to be in the playoffs at all. However, /a/ did not get the memo and beat /vp/ 35-24, thanks to the defense holding /vp/ to a field goal on one drive, and Accelerator putting on a 3 TD performance despite having the stats of a meme QB. In the other wildcard match, Cunt Destroyer FC had no trouble dispatching /ck/ with the tried and true method of giving the ball to Cunt Destroyer on every play.
AFCD Ivisional:
Surely in the divisional round /a/'s playoff run would be over. It was /o/'s year after all. After having hyped the team up with a promo, and rigging them(in a good way) to dominated the field, /o/ was slated to go to the Owl. Once again, /a/ had other plans. In one of the few matches f4r's toaster/New Zealand internet allowed viewers to watch, /o/'s year lost a wheel, spun out, flipped over 3 times, and then caught fire for good measure. The other Divisional game in the AFC was even more of a blowout. Mormon Jesus reminded us all why he's the Tecmo MVP, running circles around /wg/ for a 42-27 /f/ win.
AFCC Hampionship:
Yep, you guessed it. Another /a/ game, and another upset. In a classic almost no one was able or even trying to watch, the game came down to who had the ball last. Every posession ended in a score, and /a/ just happened to hold the ball 1 more time than /f/.
NFC:
The NFC was downright ResidentSleeper compared to the AFC(hence it getting just the one section). Every match went according to seed, the winner of each match scored first and never let up the lead.
/vr/ was chosen to win the NFC. Nothing is garunteed no matter how much I rig it, but this one was pretty safe.
The Superb Owl:
This was SUPPOSED to be the most exciting match of the day. One of the 3 big AFC contenders, /tg/, /o/, or /f/ was supposed to go head to head against the NFC's lone superpower /vr/, but instead, /tg/ went full Oilels and missed the playoffs, while the latter two were eliminated in huge upsets by /a/. There was some pre-match hype for /a/ possibly pulling off a 4th and final upset, but it became immediately clear that they were out of their depth against /vr/. With Polybius unfortunately not in attendance to see it, /vr/ knocked over the /a/ defense like they weren't even there and cruised to victory in the 2015 Spring Owl.
